Our last post took a look at the importance of identifying the right target audience for your marketing campaign, showcasing that in order to be successful, you need to carefully segment your market into sizeable chunks, be that on a local or a national level. Whilst it is, of course, vital that you take this approach when starting any campaign, it's also important that you contact the right individuals in order to generate a strong response rate. You're never going to see much in the way of responses from sending unsolicited mail to generic company email addresses, however target the right person with the right message and that response rate will shoot right up.
Email Is Still A Very Effective Marketing Approach
When we look at email marketing as an approach to generating business, there’s no wonder that, when done right, it can be so effective. It’s estimated that there’s a total of more than 3.2 billion email accounts worldwide and that 95% of consumers online use email and that 91% check these on a daily basis. What better way to get your message in front of your target market, especially given that, for many, email is their preferred choice of communication means and that it has a far longer lifespan than social media posts do. What has to be remembered, however, is that in order to be successful, email marketing has to be targeted and, at that, targeted to the right person at the right time.
Outline Your Goals
Prior to sending out your marketing email, it’s important that you understand and outline your goals. What is the overall aim of the mail shot? Website traffic? Direct enquiries? Sign ups? Purchases? By predefining these goals, you’ll ultimately be able to gauge the success of your campaign far better and, even more so when targeting the right person at the right time, be in a position to showcase what works and what doesn’t, through data!
Collect Your Own Data or Buy A List?
Going back to contacting the right individual, it can be a mammoth task to collect such data yourself. You not only need to have segmented your target market into marketable chunks (be that geographically or by industry) but you need to ensure you’re marketing to the right person. You can, of course, build your own list, however this takes time and we all know that time is money. A far better solution, as far as we’re concerned, is to purchase fresh business data lists. We are proud to offer a wide range of lists which are sorted by job title which gives you instant access to the right people within a whole host of industries across the UK. Whether you want HR email lists, marketing manager email lists or data from almost any role, we're confident you'll find it here.
